Session Description:

This session will focus on national regional trends impacting the not-for-profit senior living sector.  Topics of focus will include the demographic outlook for senior living, industry consolidation, workforce challenges, skilled nursing challenges, expense pressures, repositioning’s, for profit competition and how technology resources are changing how providers address their key business challenges.  In the session, Ziegler will utilize its proprietary research to support each topic, while Baker Tilly will utilize its experience serving clients in the region to help them meet their challenges.

Chad Himel

Managing Director, Ziegler

Chad has a wealth of experience financing senior housing, healthcare, affordable housing and multifamily housing properties. Immediately prior to joining Ziegler, he originated FHA-insured loans for Prudential Mortgage Capital Company, the mortgage lending arm of Prudential Financial. Prior to Prudential, Chad spent nearly 12 years at HJ Sims and its FHA lending affiliate, Sims Mortgage Funding, Inc.

Jennifer Schwalm

Partner, Healthcare Practice, Senior Services Leader Baker Tilly US, LLP

Jennifer Schwalm is a partner in Baker Tilly’s healthcare group and leads the senior services practice. Jennifer has more than 25 years of healthcare industry experience with a focus in the senior services sector. She has a rich history of consulting and operational experience, assisting providers with business solutions. Prior to rejoining Baker Tilly, Jennifer held the roles of chief mission development officer at Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania and president of Ashlar Creative Solutions, a subsidiary of Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania.
