Doors open at 10:00 am for a networking breakfast\, with the DCA presentation beginning at 10:30. Following our discussion\, enjoy a pontoon ride in the Navesink Harbor! \nNew Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJ DCA) is working with the Rutgers Institute for Families to create a New Jersey Housing-Based Case Management Institute. This work will ensure that housing professionals are prepared and skilled in supporting practices that effectively engage consumers who are unhoused or housing insecure so that they may facilitate access to and maintenance of stable\, affordable housing options. Using an ecosystem-based participatory research process that bring in housing services providers\, persons with lived experience and expertise\, institutions\, and government to create statewide standardized competencies and a curriculum that can be used by NJ DCA and housing services providers. The institute focuses on 3 roles within the housing services and supports ecosystem: Housing Case Manager\, Resource Navigator\, and Housing Navigator through introductory\, foundational\, and ongoing professional elective courses. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHaving grown up in poverty in Camden County\, Renee Koubiadis has been an advocate and community organizer\, helping disempowered populations use their voices towards social change throughout New Jersey\, Pennsylvania\, and nationally for over 21 years. Renee currently serves as Senior Policy Advisor for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Division of Housing and Community Resources. Prior\, she was the Anti-Poverty Program Director of New Jersey Citizen Action where she led the statewide Anti-Poverty Network as she had since 2016. Renee is a Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey and holds an MSW from Temple University and a BASW from Rutgers University. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQuestions?
