SUMMARY:Addressing Quality Measures: QRP Changes and Audits
DESCRIPTION:Addressing Quality Measures: QRP Changes and Audits\, presented on Oct 24th; 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (eastern time).\n\nThis live webinar will be provided in partnership with NJHA. Skilled nursing facilities are about to experience – as of Oct. 1 — the most substantive changes to the Minimum Data Set (MDS) since its original inception in 1988. MDS is the underpinning of care planning\, Medicare payment and quality measurement. So\, it’s critical that SNFs are well-prepared for the impact of these changes. \nThe Quality Reporting Program is likely to affect Medicare payments in new and different ways moving into the future. We will also review the outcome of CMS’ focused audits on the use of antipsychotic medications in SNFs. \nRegister here! \nObjectives for this presentation include:\n \n\nSummarize the quality measures and quality reporting program (QRP) changes as they relate to the delivery of care and reimbursement.\n\n\nDescribe the CMS initiative for schizophrenia MDS audits\, the rationale for the audits and the consequences of failing the audits.\nList the steps to prepare for a schizophrenia audit\, immediate action for proceeding or signing the attestation to forego the audit if you are chosen\, and time frames.\n\n\nFaculty: \n\nAnnette Sanders\, MSN\, RN\, CLNC\, ICP\, QCP\, RAC-CT – Senior Consultant\, LW Consulting\n\n\nKay Hashagan\, PT\, MBA\, RAC-CT- Senior Consultant\, LW Consulting\n\n\nNursing Home Administrators Licensing Board Statement\nThis continuing education program is sponsored/conducted by the Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey (HRETNJ) and is in compliance with N.J.A.C. 8:34-7.3 to provide licensed nursing home administrator (LNHA) and certified assisted living administrator (CALA) education credits accepted by the Nursing Home Administrators Licensing Board. \nThis education activity may only be used for continuing education credit and not to meet academic college credits. This education activity has been approved for a total of 1.5 LNHA/CALA continuing education credits. \nNew Jersey State Nurses Association Accreditation Statement\nHRET is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by New Jersey State Nurses Association\, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. \nProvisional Provider Number P-131-3/2022.\nThis education activity awards a maximum of 1.5 nursing contact hours. \nAfter completion of this activity\, please complete only ONE evaluation below that corresponds to the type of continuing education credit that you wish to receive. \nAfter registering\, please remember to click on the ZOOM registration link to add to your calendar.

DESCRIPTION:March 29th\, 11 am – 12 noon | Free Virtual Training for Members! \nRegister today! \nPriority #1 for most aging services providers is recruiting staff for your workforce. To support that vital work\, LeadingAge conducted market research among prospective workers to learn their perceptions of the field and how to communicate the attractiveness of working in aging services. This session covers the communications strategies\, messages\, and job attributes to emphasize in your workforce recruiting. These new assets align with the current Opening Doors to Aging Services’ research-backed strategies to move public perceptions positively. \nAttendees of this session will learn how to: \n\nPosition working in the aging services field most effectively\nPrepare recruitment communications to best appeal to potential employees\nDevelop recruiting content in line with Opening Doors’ research-backed strategies\n\nAbout Our Speaker: \nGwen Fitzgerald \nDirector\, Public Messaging | LeadingAge \nGwen Fitzgerald is a communications professional and community activist. She serves as Director\, Public Messaging at LeadingAge\, a professional association representing more than 5\,000 nonprofit aging services providers and other mission-minded organizations that touch millions of lives every day. That body of work now includes the strategies and tools to reach potential aging services employees\, Opening Doors to the Aging Services Workforce. \nPrior to joining LeadingAge in 2021\, she worked with teams to develop communications and marketing campaigns that inspire audiences to act and advance public safety and human rights. \nAfter business hours\, she is a ceramic artist (hobbyist)\, dog fanatic\, and Board member at Oakwood Arts in Richmond\, VA\, where she lives with her husband and 12-year-old\, three-legged dog.
