Be CAUTious: An Interactive Session of Infection Prevention Practices

This session will review potential causes of CAUTIs and UTIs and explore updates in CAUTI prevention and catheter care, including nurse-driven practices. The presenter will provide opportunities for on-line interactive education and a deep dive into the best practices for infection prevention within a long-term care setting.

Speaker: Mary Cantu, BS, RN, Medical Science Liaison, Medline Industries, LP
Mary Cantu, BS, RN is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 40 years of experience. She dedicated 23 years to multispecialty surgery, procedural nursing, and education, prior to dedicating an additional 20+ years to clinical consulting and educational roles. Her career has been marked by a strong focus on education and evidence-based clinical practices across acute and long-term care, particularly in infection prevention.

Most licensure boards, credentialing agencies and professional organizations have processes that allow individuals to earn a certain number of CEUs for non-preapproved programs and/or to accommodate self-submission for approval of continuing education hours after the event takes place with proper documentation from the program sponsors.
