Session Description

This presentation will review the three high-risk federal regulations F600, F684 and F689 and the definitions included in them as well as examples of deficiencies for each. These three regulations include the greatest number of immediate jeopardy citations. The three high-risk regulations are extensive and include several areas that can be cited. Two of the regulations are “all staff” regulations, which further increase the opportunities for deficiencies during survey and for non-compliance that has the potential to result in reportable events. This session will also provide examples for team member education and discussion related to the regulations.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the three high risk federal regulations and why they are high risk
  • Summarize the components of the three federal regulations and term definitions to ensure team members are compliant
  • Optimize the information related to the three high risk federal regulations by applying to all staff in the community and including all staff education
