Session Description:
Join Delaware Health and Social Services (DHSS) for a discussion of updated and new developments related to survey requirements, CMS policies and other regulatory matters in what is an ever-changing and challenging environment.

Corinna Getchell, Director, Division of Health Care Quality, DHSS
Corinna Getchell received a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University in 1994, and a Master of Science in Nursing after completing the Cardiopulmonary Nurse Specialist/Adult Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Delaware in 2003. Throughout her nursing career, she has worked in a variety of settings including long-term care, hospitals, schools and outpatient care. Corinna accepted a compliance nurse position within the Office of Health Facilities Licensing and Certification in June 2009. As a compliance nurse, Corinna served as the team leader for a variety of provider types, such as end stage renal disease facilities, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals. In June 2013, Corinna was promoted to Director of the Office of Health Facilities Licensing and Certification, which provides oversight of acute and outpatient healthcare facilities/agencies throughout Delaware. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she had a leadership role as part of the Long-Term Care Incident Command at the State Health Operations Center in Smyrna, Delaware. In August 2020, Corinna was appointed to her current position as the Director of the Division of Health Care Quality (DHCQ) within the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. The DHCQ enforces compliance with state and federal healthcare laws and regulations throughout the healthcare continuum.
