Audit Trends after Year One in PDPM

NJHA and LeadingAge NJ & DE are pleased to offer a live webinar series on PDPM after year one for skilled nursing facilities.  Each webinar is one hour in length on Oct. 6 and Oct. 20.  LW Consulting will serve as faculty for these programs. Session Length: 60 minutes

Overview:  This session will provide an overview of audit trends experienced by skilled nursing providers following the first year under the PDPM payment model. During the presentation, attendees will examine the common trends and root cause of identified non-compliance. The presenters have been conducting audits and assisting facilities in identifying the “next steps” to ensure compliant MDS submissions while noting missed opportunities in coding when more complex care was delivered and supported in the documentation. . The presenters will review compliant use of the DR Modifier and Blanket Waiver under COVID-19, as well as discuss documentation requirements to support its use.

Objectives:
1. Participants will learn how to analyze errors and identify systems to improve coding and documentation.
2. Attendees will learn common root causes and potential impact of errors from the first year of PDPM.
3. Participants will understand common billing mistakes from the first year of PDPM.
4. Participants will learn the requirements associated with the use of the Blanket Waiver under COVID-19.
