HUD’s Green & Resilient Retrofit program (GRRP) Lunch & Learn

This session will review upcoming funding opportunities available to affordable senior housing providers.

• Describe rationale for efforts to advance the sustainability of current and future affordable housing communities, including resident comfort, climate change threats and economic factors
• Describe current efforts to modernize and support updates to housing 
• Identify opportunities for affordable housing providers to receive financial and technical assistance provided through federal agencies.

The nation’s affordable housing portfolio faces threats presented by its own aging infrastructure and the effects of climate change. Housing providers looking for ways to tackle these threats will get some help during this session. Presenters will review Green and Resilient Retrofit Program grants and loans for housing preservation and resiliency, including how owners and managers of qualifying affordable multifamily buildings may receive enhanced technical and financial assistance. You’ll discover how you can use these funds to improve the cost, quality, and comfort of affordable housing for residents and ensure that climate-related investments provide equitable benefits for low-income households and communities of color.
