The Director of Nursing will plan, organize, develop, and lead the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department (post-acute and long term care) in accordance with Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations (as applicable), that govern Parker at Somerset. Ensure that the highest degree of quality care are maintained at all times for those we serve while directing programs and activities. The Director of Nursing will be required to initiate and maintain external relationships with a variety of customers, referral sources, payors, and other care providers to promote cross continuum collaboration to meet the needs of current and future residents and patients.2024 is our second year in a row being recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work in New Jersey” by NJBiz.com, one of the leading business journals in the state.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

  • A nursing degree from an accredited college or university required, master’s degree in nursing strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years healthcare supervisor/management experience in the post-acute and long-term care settings, DON experience strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a current unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the needs of the residents served.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedure, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities serving long term care and post-acute populations.
  • Must possess demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and productively with a diverse population, promoting a sense of teamwork.
  • Achieve and sustain the organization’s highest standards.
  • Meet the requirements of all governing bodies.
  • Organize work effectively, adjust to changes in work schedule, workflow and priorities.
  • Acts on issues needing attention, ensures task completion and communication with key stakeholders.
