Keynote Film Screening & Conversation: Cycling Without Age

Wednesday, June 18 | 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

At LeadingAge New Jersey & Delaware, we recognize that every action we take creates ripples—spreading impact far beyond the moment. Cycling Without Age is a powerful testament to this idea, demonstrating how a simple bike ride can spark connection, restore dignity, and transform lives.

Join us for an exclusive screening of this inspiring documentary, which follows retired educator John Seigel-Boettner as he discovers a new way to teach—outside the classroom and on the open road. Through pedal-powered trishaw rides, he and his volunteers help older adults rediscover the joy of movement, bridging generations and breaking down barriers of isolation.

Following the screening, John Seigel-Boettner will join us for an engaging conversation with LANJDE President & CEO Jim McCracken and Springpoint’s Vice President of Operations James Tavormina about how this movement has created a ripple effect—one that has expanded across communities and countries. Together, we’ll explore how small actions can lead to profound, far-reaching change, just as the insights and solutions shared at this gathering will extend to the people, families, and communities we serve.

Be part of this moment of inspiration and learn how you, too, can start ripples of impact in aging services.

About the Film

Cycling Without Age is a film about the power of feeling the wind in your hair, no matter where you are on life’s journey. It follows the story of John, a retired teacher and his merry group of volunteers as they use pedal-powered rickshaws to give rides to those who have lost the ability to pedal themselves. Through the intimate moments of these rides, the film presents a unique portrait of aging: asking audiences to consider the importance of the outdoors for those who are all too often trapped inside.
